Lovely English Christmas Week

Earlier in the week, we enjoyed our Primary Christmas activity, with the children in “fancy dress”, playing games, making ornaments, eating lunch……DSCF0004.JPGDSCF0012.JPG

… and enjoying a visit from Father Christmas…..

On Christmas Eve day, we had a wonderful Zone Meeting, then dinner with the elders at Toby Carvery, and a wonderful Skype visit with Joanna and Chris.

On Christmas morning we enjoyed a lovely Christmas day Carol Service, put on by our friend, Joe P. with music, video presentations and Christmas messages from our prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. Then we drove up to Newland, Malvern area, an hour away to be with our dear second cousin relatives, Roy and Libby.DSCF0054.JPG

Their home was so Christmasy and cozy!DSCF0042.JPGDSCF0041.JPG

We sat down to eat a lovely English Christmas dinner, beginning with our “starter” and Christmas crackers.

We so enjoyed our beautiful, delicious dinner, with eight different vegetables, two kinds of potatoes, two kinds of dressing, delicious turkey, all kept warm in between with an electric cupboard warmer at the side.

Our lovely Christmas hostess, Libby, who worked so hard to make such a wonderful dinner!

We loved the great conversation and time to be together!

After stuffing ourselves unmercifully, and enjoying it so well, it was time to open presents. (Gene and I cheated a little and opened ours on Christmas Eve.)

Roy and Libby were so thoughtful with their gifts to us, a wonderful photo memory book about our times together this year and family history people and places, a photo calendar and a tea towel for our tea towel quilt. ‘Such wonderful treasures! We felt so loved!

That night we enjoyed Libby’s hat, admiring her 3000 piece puzzle, and sharing a lovely Skype visit with Kristi and Drew.

We stayed overnight and enjoyed a relaxing Boxing Day with Roy and Libby. What a lovely gift they gave us to be with them!  They treated us so royally and we loved every minute! Dear family!!!!

We went back to our flat that afternoon and enjoyed a Skype visit with Matt and Julianne, Jackson, Lucy, Tess and Capri. The next day we skyped with Scott and Rachel. What a miracle Skyping is to connect with our dear family so far away! A wonderful Christmas week! DSCF0019.JPG

We’re so grateful for the wonderful Christmas gift to all of us, Jesus Christ, who gives us life after this life, the opportunity to return to our Heavenly Father, and be with our families forever, and the daily blessings of comfort, help, direction, forgiveness, peace and love! We love Him!
