So Gene put forth the idea in Ward Council a few months ago that we could have a pancake breakfast Saturday morning. Mind you, pancakes are not an English thing! There are a few attempts in the stores to try them, selling already-made pancakes and bottle mixes, but not quite the real things! The ward was very brave to try such a thing for our Christmas party! Fortunately, we all had fun and enjoyed the time together!
After we filled up on pancakes, Belgium waffles, fruit and bacon, some of the ward members went down the street to the town center to sing Christmas carols and collect for a charity, a local women’s refuge. Luckily the rain held off for us, but it was chilly! We were amazed at how many lingered and seemed to enjoy our music. I think our hymns were a refreshing touch of the real Christmas spirit!
I’m giving the pitch with my trusty harmonica in the photo below, not eating on the job! 🙂
Happy Christmas memory! We love these dear ward friends! Cheerio!
