An eventful week!
On Tuesday we went to a great CES fireside with Victor Ludlow, retired BYU professor of ancient scripture and author. He was the mission president of our stake president. He stopped by after a tour he led in Israel, to do family history, speak at our Stake Youth Conference, and see ancestor places nearby. He mentioned that he would be visiting our Stroud ward. After church yesterday, we visited and found out that he also is a descendant of Thomas Jenkins, our ancestor who was baptized by Wilford Woodruff at Benbow pond, so we are cousins!
As he was traveling alone, and we were already having the young elders for dinner, we invited him to come too. We had such a wonderful time, sharing food and conversation. He is such a brilliant scholar, but so kind and personable! We loved asking him questions and hearing his answers and insights and wisdom! ‘Can’t help but feel that this wasn’t just a chance meeting! ‘Such a sweet blessing for us!
