Actually we had a two day anniversary celebration, the first which was raining until late afternoon, when we decided to drive an hour away to Malmesbury, the most south part of our ward. We had a yummy dinner at The Bird Cage, with lots of nostalgic American 40’s music in the background and then we walked a little through the village.
Then on our real anniversary, August 11th, we woke up and checked our emails and had sweet surprise videos from our wonderful children, wishing us a happy anniversary! As we left our flat to go to Wales to finish our last three missionary flat inspections, we were surprised with this greeting on our door and our car and two sweet cards from Elder Pailate and Elder Tupou. ‘So thoughtful of our family and fellow missionaries!
Since we finished the inspections about noon, and the weather was gorgeous, we took some time to visit the Welsh Raglan Castle, a few miles to the north. ‘Such a pleasant day, celebrating our 36 years together and the love that we share– that is far more enduring than castles! I’m so grateful for my dear husband!
