Day with the Lads

So we’ve taken to calling the elders that work with us “the lads” after what the members call them and it seems to fit! This last Thursday our district meeting plans changed because the elders on exchange in Monmouth Wales had a mishap with the car when they hit a curb on a main road whilst going about 60 mph, so the car was in the shop and we needed to go and switch back the elders. When we learned that there was no light in the bathroom in their flat, we decided to walk to the hardware store nearby to get a lightbulb (you might notice in the photos our district leader Elder Laird holding the one we took to compare). There was an ancient medieval bridge next to the hardware store that we explored a little, a hall dedicated to Henry V who was born in Monmouth (with a proper Welshman in a wheelchair who let me take his photo in front) and then the Monmouth castle ruin next to some military vehicle. A good day with the lads!
