Cardiff Bay, Wales

Our mission president, President Rasmussen said to make sure we visit Cardiff Bay when we went there for our flat inspections, so we were very obedient! We met some darling sister missionaries, Sister Crowley and Sister Anderson, on our last inspection, kept our parking place there and walked with them about 5 minutes to the bay. First stop was the new modern Millennium Stadium with the words, “In These Stones Horizons Sing”–so welsh, with their love of music and heritage! We had a delicious lunch on the wharf (shrimp salad reminiscent of trips with my sisters to San Francisco), then let the sister missionaries go to their next appointments and we walked around the harbor area, out onto the peninsula jutting out into the bay, passing the terracotta building telling some history there. It was interesting to see the first Welsh Bible, which led to religious searching, preparing for the gospel preached in Wales starting in the 1840’s. Our ancestors the Bowens were the beneficiaries of that work!  (We added the Dr. Who building photo for those Dr. Who fans out there.) And to top it off, we added our photos from our lovely trip to the temple this last Saturday with John and Maureen Cole, new friends from Stroud ward. We lovely the opportunity to enjoy a session and sealings too. A great week! Cherrio!
